Seijuu Sentai Gingaman

Seijuu Sentai Gingaman is a Japanese tokusatsu television series and Toei’s 22nd entry in the Super Sentai metaseries. It aired from February 22, 1998, to February 14, 1999. Its footage was used in the adaptation of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. Yasuko Kobayashi was the series’ lead screenwriter. This series should not be confused with the one-time villainous but humorous Sentai from Chikyu Sentai Fiveman, the Ginga Sentai Gingaman.

At the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, Shout! Factory announced that it would release the complete Starbeast Squadron Gingaman series, uncut in Japanese with English subtitles, on DVD in North America.[2] The DVD was released on January 30, 2018.[3] This was the seventh Super Sentai series released on Region 1 DVD in North America. In July 2018, Shout! streamed the series on its website.

Three thousand years ago, the Space Pirates Balban invaded Earth. The Starbeasts and the first Gingamen, warriors from the Ginga Forest, fought them using a mystical power known as Earth and eventually imprisoned them. Later, the Ginga people concealed their forest within marked boundaries and passed the duty of the Ginga warriors down through the generations.

In the present day, Hyuuga, Hayate, Gouki, Hikaru, and Saya are chosen as the 133rd warriors of the Starbeast Swords. Ryouma is delighted that his elder brother, Hyuuga, will inherit the title. As Orghi conducts the succession ceremony for the Starbeast Swords, an earthquake breaks the seal on the Balban.

Orghi orders the 133rd warriors to retrieve the Ginga Braces hidden in Roaring Mountain. The Balban attack them to prevent the new Gingamen from emerging. During the battle, Hyuuga is swallowed by a crack in the ground created by the Balban’s leader, Captain Zahab. Enraged, Ryouma activates his hidden Earth power and awakens the Ginga Braces. The Gingamen join the Starbeasts in fighting the Balban, who seek to revive the Demon Beast Daitanix, whose corpse they built their castle upon.
