Denshi Sentai Denziman

Denshi Sentai Denziman is Toei’s fourth entry in the Super Sentai series. It was broadcast from February 2, 1980, to January 31, 1981. It was also Toei’s second series to carry a Marvel copyright, although Marvel was not directly involved.

Three thousand years ago, the Vader Clan devastated Denzi Star. Denzi Land, an island from Denzi Star, eventually reached Earth. In modern times, the computer aboard Denziland detects the Vader Clan approaching Earth and awakens the Denzidog IC. IC selects five young people, who may or may not be descendants of the Denzi people, to become the Denzimen and defend Earth, the Vader Clan’s next target.

The Denzimen begin their long battle successfully by defeating Vader Monster number 00, Flying Squirreler. As the conflict continues, they begin to suspect that they themselves may truly be descendants of the Denzi people. They also learn that other descendants may exist, scattered throughout Earth.

Queen Hedrian struggles to turn the world into a living nightmare until the space wanderer Demon King Banriki offers his assistance. She accepts without realizing that his real objective is to conquer Earth for himself. Banriki eventually seizes Vader Castle and attacks the Denzimen with his Omnipotent Monse.

Hedrer personally enters battle at giant size and meets a tragic death. The Denzimen are then unable to overcome Banriki and his monster until IC sacrifices himself and becomes a circuit for DaiDenzin. With this sacrifice, Banriki and his monster are finally defeated.

Queen Hedrian escapes to the North Pole, where she falls asleep while sealed inside ice, appearing to have been defeated for good.
